More About Peter

I'm Peter Lally and I am a lifelong Mansfield resident along with my family. Since I was first able to vote in 2017 I joined the Mansfield Democratic Town Committee as an associate member, and was a recipient of their Charlene and Harrison Straley Memorial Scholarship for students pursuing higher education with a demonstrated understanding and commitment to the ideals of the Democratic Party as well as attending the 2018 Mass State Democratic Convention as an alternate delegate, and as a voting delegate this year. I had the opportunity to serve as the Vice President of Mansfield High '18, President of the Mansfield High School Chapter of the National Honor Society, Mock Trial, various volunteering efforts, athletics, and more. I also worked for four summers with the Mansfield Parks and Rec Department.

During my time at The University of Vermont studying Public Communications, Political Science, and Speech and Debate, I was heavily involved in Student Government, serving as Student Body Vice President from 2020 to 2021 dealing with many real issues such as sexual assault on campus, addressing food insecurity, introducing programs to make my campus more sustainable, assisting first-generation and low-income students, addressing housing concerns, and uplifting the general student voice during a difficult and unprecedented year. I was also a member of the Lawrence Debate Union in which I competed against other schools in competitive debate.

This is just a snapshot of some of the many roles, projects and groups I have been apart of as I hope to earn your vote and bring a fresh perspective to Beacon Hill. I would love to hear from as many fellow community members as possible and plan on reaching out myself in the coming months. Please reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or just to chat if you would like. Thank you!
